Ted - Restricted Trailer (by TedIsReal)

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane brings his boundary-pushing brand of humor to the big screen for the first time as writer, director and voice star of Ted. In the live action/CG-animated comedy, he tells the story of John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg), a grown man who must deal with the cherished teddy bear who came to life as the result of a childhood wish…and has refused to leave his side ever since.

Pacific Rim (2013) Synopsis Revealed!

Ok, I’ve been hearing about this movie for little over a year now. Kinda forgot about it until today. They had me at Monster vs Mechas, bro! So pumped for this reminds me of Neon Genesis Evangelion. I LOVE MECHS!

Mark your calendars for July 12th, 2013 and expect a first reveal at San Diego’s Comic-Con. Lucky bums. :P

From acclaimed filmmaker Guillermo del Toro comes Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ epic sci-fi action adventure “Pacific Rim.”

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes-a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)-who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

Oscar® nominee Guillermo del Toro (“Pan’s Labyrinth”) is directing “Pacific Rim” from a script by Travis Beacham (“Clash of the Titans”). Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni and Mary Parent are producing, with Callum Greene serving as executive producer.

The film stars Charlie Hunnam (TV’s “Sons of Anarchy”), Idris Elba (“Thor”), Rinko Kikuchi (“The Brothers Bloom”), Charlie Day (“Horrible Bosses”), and Ron Perlman (the “Hellboy” films). The ensemble cast also includes Max Martini, Robert Kazinsky, Clifton Collins, Jr., Burn Gorman, Larry Joe Campbell, Diego Klattenhoff, and Brad William Henke.

Retuning to the film will be Chris Pine (Kirk), Zachary Quinto (Spock), Karl Urban (Bones), Simon Pegg (Scotty), Zoe Saldana (Uhura), Anton Yelchin (Chekov), John Cho (Sulu) with new additions, Benedict Cumberbatch, Noel Clarke, Alice Eve and Nazneen Contractor.

The untitled ‘Star Trek 2’ movie will hit theaters on May 17, 2013.

Chronicle (Trailer) - An Akira-esque movie?!

I just watched this Akira-esque trailer for a movie titled, “Chronicle.”

According to the YouTube page the movie is about “Three high school students make an incredible discovery, leading to their developing uncanny powers beyond their understanding. As they learn to control their abilities and use them to their advantage, their lives start to spin out of control, and their darker sides begin to take over.

It releases 2/3/2012. Check out the trailer below.

(Psst… not familiar with Akira? Well, umm, where have you been?! :P That’s okay. Check out this post from last year, THIS! and also maybe Wikipedia for info on the manga and the 1988 film)

‘The Lion King (3D)’ Reigns Supreme

The Lion King was released in theaters last Friday, September 16th in 3D. It will only be in theater for 2 weeks. I  highly recommend rewatching it (or going to watch it for the first). The Lion King is boss! It beat every new film, that is currently out, in the box office. It made $30.1M this past weekend.

Mo and I will be seeing it before its run is over and… singing-a-long to all of the songs. I mean come on, all of the classics like, Hakuna Matata,” Circle of Life,” I Just Can’t Wait to Be King,” Be Prepared,” and Can You Feel the Love Tonight.”

30 Minutes or Less-

Saw this the other day, wasn’t sure to expect but glad Aziz didn’t have to do any real acting. It had it moments but not a blockbuster comedy by any means. If you’re a fan of Danny McBride, Nick Swardson, or Aziz Ansari you’ll love this movie. If you’re going because you saw The Social Network and have a new love for Jesse Eisenberg, stay home and wait for Red Box. Much better than Adventureland but it’s no Zombieland.

My vote is, if you like to laugh, especially at stupid comedies grab some popcorn and go! Make sure you stay for after the credits for a little something something.

Jordan gets a Star Trek theme Park

King Abdullah II secured $1.5 billion (!!!) to build a Star Trek theme park. Why, you ask? Well, mainly because dude is a BIG TIME TREKKIE!!! He even guested in an episode of Star Trek: Voyager (see below. teehee!) and organized a Star Trek convention in Jordon.

I never wanted to go to Jordan, never crossed my mind, BUT now, it’s on my lists of places to visit… right after 1) Japan (Anime/Jrock/Jdoramas/Movies/HUGE MOVING GUNDAM STATUE!!!!); 2) Korea (Kpop/Kdrama/Korean BBQ, say wut!). Now, 3) Jordan (Star Trek Theme park after opening in 2014).

From the Atlantic Wire:

the Red Sea Astrarium ’will deliver a variety of multi-sensory 23rd-century experiences, culminating with a state-of-the art space-flight adventure’ based on the 2009 Star Trek film.”
